TURNER CENTERfor ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Stacey Reed has always been driven by a passion for business and a deep commitment to serving others. After more than two decades directing a community health program and running her own business, Stacey saw an opportunity to apply her skills in a new way—by launching Solid Rock Logistics in 2021. Her goal? To create a solution-focused logistics company that would serve a wide range of industries while building lasting client relationships.

From the start, Stacey positioned Solid Rock Logistics as a certified, women-owned business ready to meet diverse client needs. The company supplies everything from medical products and cleaning supplies to automotive parts, with a core philosophy centered on providing tailored solutions—not just selling products. “We build relationships through solution-based logistics,” she explains. Her certifications, including DBE and BEP, have helped her connect with government agencies and educational institutions, where she now serves as a trusted supplier.

Starting and growing a business in the world of government contracting hasn’t been without its challenges. Stacey credits the Illinois APEX Accelerator Center at Bradley University for playing a crucial role in her journey. With the help of advisor Keli Krueger-Huhra, she successfully navigated certifications, bidding processes, and contract management. “Keli is patient and knowledgeable,” Stacey shares. “She made a complex process easy to understand and gave me the step-by-step support I needed to grow.”

Stacey also worked with the Illinois SBDC at Bradley University to develop her website, marketing materials, and branding. She praised the student web designer who brought her vision to life, as well as Social Media Adviser Theresa Bloom, who helped her refine her brand messaging and create marketing tools that authentically represent her values.

Today, Stacey is proud of the community she’s built through her business. From long-term government contracts to smaller wins—like customers who rave about her cleaning products—she finds fulfillment in knowing that she’s helping others solve problems. “It’s about relationships first,” she says. “That’s what keeps me going.”

The Turner Center and Illinois APEX Accelerator Center are proud to support Stacey Reed and Solid Rock Logistics as she continues to grow her business and make an impact in the community.
